Andy and his son Clifford at Integrated Electric here in north Idaho have been helping me for the past few years and it's been interesting to spend time with them and watch them work. There's electricians and then there's electricians. Andy moved here from Maui and is putting a lot of the local electricians to shame with quality work.
When I bought this lake house it had a minimalist snowbird type system. I upgraded it to Schneider Electric and had a bad experience, so I switched to Victron (inverters and charge controllers). The guy that set that up had a ton of loose connections that could've set my cabin in flames, and I don't have home insurance.
Andy overhauled my entire system, not only redoing my entire breaker panel but also the wires coming from the solar panels. While it was quite costly, it gave me peace of mind that my house won't burn down.
This is part advertisement for Integrated Electric but part warning to not cut corners with cheap electric work. You get what you pay for whether it's supplements or trade work. If you are in the north Idaho area I highly recommend them.
